Deaf Artworks....

I was born an only Deaf child out of large hearing family. While growing up, we used many various sign language such as total communication, lip reading, cued speech, and you can name the list. None of those communication were any success at all. I had to find a way to communicate in order to be understood which I failed miserably. I turned to art to express my view in Hearing world.

I was able to draw as long as I could remember while growing up. I contribute this talent to my father who is also artist. I find this odd as we not always get along in real life. I only got very little formal training in art which is in High school in Oklahoma. That is where I first learned about stipple art and won 3rd place. The portrait I made was Humphrey Bogart. It was last time I did until....

Deaf Movements began. That is where my stipple arts came back which is only few years ago. I have decided to keep on doing arts until I am able to convey a message to people thru arts.

Peace to all...
Kelley

I hope you all can enjoy my art works as I am working on a picture every week only if I can have some time left out of my family schedules.

Thank you.....
